Re: Stars WCOOP $200R
[ QUOTE ]
Does anyone think this event will take longer then the main event? Stars is using the same blind structure as event #1 where the blinds stop increasing at 50000/100000, this event will easily have 4x more chips in play then that event which lasted 16 hours. [/ QUOTE ] First, there won't be 4 times the chips because a $200 re-buy will attract fewer players than a $200 freeze out. And many of those who do come won't re-buy. If the NLHE 6-max, PLO 6-max, and PLO re-buy are anything to go by ... NLHE 6-max = 4600 entrants and 17 hours (13.8 million chips) PLO 6-max = 1800 entrants and 14 hours (5.5 million chips) PLO re-buy = 770 entrants and 16 hours (8.2 million chips) The PLO re-buy was $300 vs $200 for the PLO 6-max so there were relatively fewer entrants than you would expect in the NLHE re-buy vs the NLHE 6-max. I'd probably estimate about 25 to 30 million chips in the re-buy assuming it gets 2500 +/- 300 entrants. If so, I'd suspect that when the blinds max out after about 17 hours you'll have 5 or 6 players left with an average of 50-60 BB each. I think it'll go in the 20-21 hour range, similar to the $530. I'm really not sure why they capped the blinds at 100k in a re-buy event. It will make for an interesting final table. Plus, I can watch it in the morning after a full night's sleep. Edit: my estimate of chips per entrant didn't take into account the fact that relatively fewer players will re-buy in this than the PLO re-buy. I still think it'll take at about 20 hours though. |
