[/ QUOTE ] renton, you said call sometimes, 4/bet some others for a 2/4 NL TT hand.

Is TT the lower limit for calling against a decent reg that 3/bets "lighter"? I dump anything below 99, unless as pokerboy says, they are very tight, or just really horrible.

Uhmm..I call this all day. I am a huge setminer in this sense.

1) I raise a lot and get played back at a lot..If I am folding everything and not ever calling for set value I am screwed.

2) Do an ev calc. I am pretty sure this is very +EV with even a small % chance to get a stack. Not to mention adding in his almost auto cbet you should be really good here.

If you play anywhere near my style then it isn't a question but vitally effin necessary to call here.

So you check raise him on the flop? How often do you do it without the set? How often do you just check fold?

His bet sizing can tell a lot on the flop. Depending on the flop I can tell if he has AK and missed, or if an ace flops you can tell if he has something like KK a lot of the times. Obviously this is all situation dependent, but not only can you steal many but you also get stacks a LOT of the time vs A LOT of opponents, because most stack off with overpairs amazingly easy.

This is prob a leak of mine, but I would say that it is quite profitable against all but the best opponents.

Mike: To answer your question it is again situational...I just do it a certain percentage of the times really I can't put a number on it.

Isn't this always a call? Am I wrong, or is the chance your hand is best + set odds + 2:1 make this a call as played?

[/ QUOTE ]

Even if your hand is best, your almost never going to SD without hitting your set.

88 play so bad unless u flop a set, and peeling flops oop , thats reallllly not good. Its best to fold here most of the time, occasionly call/4 bet they arent BAD but folding here is best most of the time. With position for 3x raise id call most of the time

I'm wrong. I have been leaking in this category.

In 438 hands where I called a preflop 3-bet with TT or less, I am -1400.
