Actually, no. The biggest asset you can have is the ability to think rationally. We all know data-nerds who have trouble finding their azz with both hands.
DS's various comments on both experts and people in general screwing up isn't because of their lack of knowledge in their field, it's because of their inability to process what they do know. You're saying 'know more data, know more data'... It's not a case of GiGo, it's a case of turning good input into garbage by carlo-izing it.
