Yes, your hand is very marginal on this board.

Only 6 players though, maybe should be posted in the non-full ring forum.

Only assuming they haven't adjusted their play for there only being 6 players at the table.

Checking the turn gives away a free card to the dry Ace of clubs?
you think thats still the best play?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, and villain's play illustrates why. It's a perfect spot to bluff.

There's a decent chance that you still have the best hand, so you're looking to get to showdown, but the river is gonna be tough. Since you've got to fold if another club or a king falls anyway, check and see what happens. Check/calling might even buy you a free showdown if the river is a rag.

If you call his raise, you're basically committed to going AI, so check and let him make the next move.

that sounds pretty good, i like that.

i guess i sometimes will get caught up in not wanting to get outdrawn and therefore i'll play marginal hands too strong when I don't need to build the pot.

thanks guys!

value bet, value bet, value bet, value bet, value bet.

I repeat it to myself constantly. Of course there are probably bigger leaks, but I don't know about them yet.

Yeah, I feel that I get most of my value bets in, but sometimes i either miss some or get trapped....

What do you think about this hand? Trap? Just Check? or Value Bet? If so, how much? What do you do if its raised?

I check this down, but I am a puss after this line.
Edited:
This is my thinking, can I really get more money out of them on hands I can beat (busted str8)? I don't like to overplay TPTK, and I already built the pot up on the turn.
