Off topic, but was or is there a theorem dealing with minraises?

[/ QUOTE ]

The "How to play like a donk" Theorem.

[/ QUOTE ]

Eh, no. Minraising in the right spot is a very powerful and underrated weapon.

Quoted for emphasis.

Treat a minraise like any other raise just realize that it is often almost as if they called since the raise is so small relative to the pot, but you have to keep in mind its implications on the rest of the hand. You can't call a min-raise because "only donks minraise" and then proceed to get pot stuck. Also, as usual, adjust to your opponents and try to figure out their range of hands they would min-raise with.

I insta-fold that spot. I think it is a huge tell unless used often.

They can work. I used the min insta bet successfully the other day with a set. It throws people sometimes if used rarely.

Today I min 3 bet a min reraise. That really confuses the f out of them.

I sometimes (rarely) use the min raise in live tables that are multiway fishy and I flopped the nuts. The calling stations call, and then the other players are getting such good odds they have to call.

I also minraise a good friend of mine onetime on the river with air (about 20 hours into a live session) for a small pot, he said he folded out of pure confusion
