hmm if I were you I would def. try to move up. 30-80$ sounds good for now, but what happens if the micro limits get better in a couple of month and you only make 20-40$ a day. That said, you will get older as well and anything less than 100$ a day wouldnt be satisfiying anymore. If I were you I would consider to work on your game, move up at least one or two limits and get more money in to be on the safe side.

Ahh....I'm currently playing 50NL for a living. I'll be playing poker for a living until August 08 at which point it will go back to being a part time job as I enter law school.

I generally 7 table 50NL and make like somewhere in $27-$33 an hour just from the poker before bonuses and such are counted up.


I'm not obsessed with microstakes though and want to be playing 100NL real soon and then moving up from there.

If you can pull in 10-16 buyins a DAY at 5nl.. its time to move up buddy. $80 a day at 25NL is pretty good if someone can sustain it over >50,000 hands.

I assume you were talking about me. I generally get more like 585-620 hands an hour actually and sometimes more than that (sometimes I play 6 and sometimes 8 but 8 more often than 6).

I try to play like definitely at least 70K hands a month....though more is better.


The past 4-5 weeks I have played much less than that though cause I've been preparing for the LSAT. Hopefully Oct. 1st I get back to playing a bunch more hands.

$50/night, assuming 5 hours of play per night is $10/hour.
Assuming your BB is 5 cents, then your PTBB is 10 cents, and to make your $10 an hour, assuming you 12 table getting like 1000 hands in an hour, you gotta run at 10PTBB/100, which I guess is believable.

However, over a large sample size, if this is the case, please move up. 25NL is just like 10NL.

There is a ton of regulars on Stars at least that play %)NL for a living, making anywhere between 25-50$/hr, depending on your skill level. So definitely doable. Good luck.
