What do you do when called? Check turn? Check/fold river?

check/raise.

Check/Raise might actually be the cheapest way to get away from this hand if you are beat and it might get some better hands to fold also.

How? Some is going to bet atleast $1, then we check/raise too $3 and they call. We have just pissed away $3 for nothing.

We could lead out ourself for a $1, if a the turn is a brick we c/f. Or we can check/call for a $1 and decide what too do on the turn.

Check/rasing in the worst thing we can do here. telling him too fold here is better advice then a c/r i think.

Board and villain dependant, to be honest. If flop is very dry, I normally slow down if turn is no help. If the board is drawy and I put villain on draw, I obviously bet again on turn. Yet, I'm always happy to take the pot down on flop already..

LOL, if they call they have a set. And it's better info than you are going to get from betting $1 and then $2 on the turn with a dominated kicker.

I prefer betting out in these spots, especially at passive / weakish tables. I like to take down these pots as fast as possible..

[/ QUOTE ]

Bet for what? The pot is small and there is possible straight draw on the board. You are invested ... hmmm big blind. You want to protect it? If yes, protect it preflop.

I'm not protecting anything, I'm talking in general.
If I get lucky and flop top pair in a three way limped pot out of the BB, I m just looking to win that small pot, without much resistance. When you are able to win a lot of small pots each session (like this one) or steal a lot of blinds, that sums up to a good amount of moneys...

So you'd never call a c/r here with a Flush draw?! Nit!

There's also the fact he could have two pair and re-raise us, if we lead the flop we will be raised by 2 pair so we can get away alot easier.
