id go w the pistons lineup to start with marion instead of tayshaun.

[/ QUOTE ]

The only player on the Pistons who wants to play is Chauncey.

[/ QUOTE ]

rip is the best pure shooter in the game. big ben is the best rebounder in the game. sheed is a good player for the international game because he can pass well and spreads the offense. this is why they are so good. marion has a very similar skill set to tayshaun, hes just a lot better.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ben sucks in the FIBA game. He'd be horrible. He won't get his defensive calls, since the refs kinda bias against the US.

Rip is definitely not the best pure shooter in the game. Ben Wallace's game would be terrible in international ball. Rasheed would be amazing. Regardless, all of them declined to play.

I think this post was asking who would you choose out of the 25 available.

Frontcourt:
Amare Stoudemire--Assuming Amare will still be Amare when he comes back, he will be an absolute beast by 2008. His pure athleticism and strength will be tough for anybody to contain.
Brad Miller--For a center, has a great all-around game that should translate well to the international game.
Elton Brand--Very solid both offensively and defensively. Great rebounder.
Shawn Marion--Excellent all-around game, very good defensively. On a team of scorers, I see him doing a lot of the little things.
Dwight Howard--Like Amare, we are only seeing the beginning of Howard's dominance. Athletic, strong, and a rebounding beast.
LeBron James--No explanation necessary. Can also play both guard spots.
Rashard Lewis--The final choice on my team, great perimeter game, very underrated player IMO. A better choice than Redd or Reddick for a pure 3PT shooter.

Backcourt:
Dwayne Wade--Great penetrator, gets others involved.
Kobe Bryant--Obviously a scorer, and can play D too.
Chauncey Billups--A leader to run the offense, hits the 3.
Chris Paul--Will only get better and would be a good fit as an unselfish guard to run the offense.
Gilbert Arenas--A combo guard that can light it up, good 3PT shooter.

I bolded Greg Oden because I have no idea who he is.

7'0" center, #1 HS player in America. The #1 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft unless something weird happens. Would be the #1 pick this year if he were eligible.

Going to Ohio State as part of the "Thad Five."

I don't think he's the best shooter in the game over Allen, Dirk, and Peja, but he's not that far behind.

Take a look at his shooting % this year... FG%, 3FG%, and FT%. They're out of this world. He's leading the league in 3FG and shooting over 50% on FG. He might be the best shooter THIS year, but I'd definitely put him the best mid range jump shooter. If he keeps on working on his three, watch out. He really would be Reggie II, down to the complaining and the running around.

Redd's pretty damn good, I put him on par with Rip. The three I listed are IMO the cream of the crop regarding shooters in the NBA.

That's my opinion, you're free to have your own.

Its great to have an opinion and all, but something like "best shooter in the league" is an objective quantity that we have statistics for. Rip has been hot this year but the last 3 years his shooting was god awfull. If he continues for the rest of the year and next year he belongs up there. Hard to put a guy in the upper tier because of 60 games though.
