"So to clear this up, we're talking about $25 PLO, right? This tactic is suicide at this level, generally, unless it's a nut-peddly player pool. $2500 PLO, maybe this works quite nicely."
so how do you feel this tactic is successful at a higher level. What would a player have to look for to make this successful? |

People who can fold, generally. The number of loose-passive fish generally decreases as you go up stakes and find less incompetent boobs who are willing to stack off on any draw or any pair. The hyperaggro tactic works best against nits, some of which you'll find at micro levels, but mostly at low and medium stakes. It doesn't work unless you get reads, though, as you'll find loose-passive fish everywhere you go, even nosebleed stakes.

Yes. Be careful, though, you'll find yourself trapped a whole hell of a lot if you do this. Taking timely free cards is very important though.

raising 80% of hands preflop isn't profitable at any level, except maybe in a live game with super-fish where you're playing 3000bb deep.

Depends if you're playing FR or shorthanded. Obv hyperaggro play works better shorthanded, in which case you could be quite happy potting 55%, maaaaybe 60% of your hands preflop. Full ring, you need to be much more selective with the hands you're willing to pot preflop, mostly with regards to position. With a bunch of limpers and your button, something like the top 15-20% of your hands are pottable.
I'm assuming ribbo's going on his usual diatribe against laggy play, and he's probably right in some regards, in that it's high variance and tilt-inducing when things go wrong. When things go right, though, they can go very very very right. |

no-one wins long term at any level online with a PFR of 55% in a 6-handed game.
