Re: new to playing online
[ QUOTE ]
Go to a rakeback site and sign up through their links. If you are going to be a regular player make sure you use their rakeback codes and not “free books” offer or other offers they may have. I use raketherake and find them very good but there are many others if you google. Try to find a site that has bonus offers and use those as well. PokerStars (no rakeback but they have their own reward system) and Full Tilt are the largest and have most traffic but the rakeback sites will list a whole bunch of other sites. You will be limited if you are from USA. I use Neteller to deposit without problems but if you are from USA this is not an option. You can ask here for options but I would suggest direct emails to any site you decide to play. Bankroll management is very important and there are some good threads here if you search. If I think of anything else I will post. Good luck [/ QUOTE ] Now that Visa Gift-to-Go cards are no longer an option, the consensus seems to be that an E-passporte acoount is the best way to go for U.S. residents. It's what I currently use. |

Re: new to playing online
Tried E-passporte.com and the site that came up gave no hint of how to use it for an account to play on line poker.
Did I do something wrong? What do I click on? Thanks |

Re: new to playing online
I'll just suggest you choose a site and stick with it for a while, instead of 'trying them all out'.
Reason being you can make a ton off initial deposit bonuses. If you decide to put in $50 to a few sites you'll blow your chance at large bonuses and regret it later. On the flip side lets say you run you're roll up to $600 on stars and want to try out full tilt, go for it and get the full bonus. Out of stars and full tilt I'll recommend stars by far, no matter what people say about rake back. You still pay MORE on full tilt WITH rake back then what you do on stars, at the lower limits. |

Thanks [/ QUOTE ] ePassporte is an e-wallet--basically, it's a virtual Visa card, so it's a general commerce site and not just a gambling site. Here are some instructions to use it with PokerStars: http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/real-money/epassporte/ And here with Full Tilt: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/payFPS.php Poker Stars and Full Tilt are the main options for US players right now*. If you're starting for less than $600, I would recommend playing at Stars first. If you have more than $600 and decide to go to Full Tilt make sure you sign up for rakeback!! * They aren't the only ones, see, for example, here. But I've never been fond of Ultimate Bet, and Absolute seems to be a good place to avoid right now, so I'd just stick with FTP and Stars. |
