Re: Absolute Poker steals $1700 of my money?
Jesus Christ what do you want people to say? The actions you took reek of money laundering.

And what looks to be money laundering justifies seizing the money how? [/ QUOTE ] That's what you and I get when we sign their terms & Conditions agreement before setting up an account. The sites have the rights to freeze our money while they investigate offenses such as suspected money laundering or anything else. There probably hasn't been an official ruling in your case yet, as only two weeks have passed. These investigations can take months. Once you get an official statement from the site on the status of your account balance, then you can go from there. If you believe they broke the terms & conditions that you agreed to, then you must make your case to them. Still, they have the ultimate power to decide in the end, so if you really believe they are trying to screw you out of your money as you stated, I'd imagine your efforts would be futile. |

Re: Absolute Poker steals $1700 of my money?
1) This seems to be pretty typical of Absolute.
2) What you did reeks of money laundering, so even if Absolute wasn't a little sketchy to begin with, hardly anyone on this board will blame them for seizing your funds. The only thing you can do is to keep fighting with them to get your money back. They may eventually return them to you if a sufficient amount of time passes and it turns out that you did not deposit the funds to Click2Pay through fraudulent means. |

Re: Absolute Poker steals $1700 of my money?
Have absolute stated that this is the end of the matter and that your funds have been seized and account closed or have they said that it's frozen pending an investigation???
I have said it before and I will say it again, players need somewhere to turn to when sites act in this manner. The Gaming Commission doesn't seem to be cutting the mustard in these issues. |

Re: Absolute Poker steals $1700 of my money?
The responses so far to this thread are pretty silly, no offence to the wonderful contributors thus far.
Firstly, I'm quite certain that there is more to the story than OP is letting on. Be that as it may, Absolute is NEVER justified in locking an account and freezing the money because a player requests a money transfer. If a site is worried about money laundering through inter-account transfers, all they need to do is simply reject the transfer attempt. Simple. No money can be laundered through that method. People who have implied that Absolute is somehow "justified" in their actions in this thread, assuming that the OP is telling the whole story, are simply being silly. Absolute is a joke of a poker site anyway. Same with their owners UB. They could make so much more money if they simply fired the morons running their poker rooms and put in competent people that realised ethical business practices and prompt customer support are required to be competitive in the current online poker environment. I was considering putting in 6 figures into Absolute for the 9% Elite VIP interest promotion, but after research, I don't think I would trust those sites with a cent that I couldn't afford to lose. |
