1: Raise 99 always. Limp 33/QJo always. Call or raise Q9s/76s but heavily leaning toward call. Call or raise ATo depending on who the tight limper is but leaning toward raise.

2: Raise 77 always. Fold A4s almost always. The other two depend on who the limper is. I think of "tight decent" live players as just another variety of fish in most cases so probably attempt to isolate with KJo/98s.

There is obviously no consensus right play here according to you guys.

Here are my thoughts.

I like the raise with 99 if I can get heads up with the two limpers. I am not sure that is possible here so calling or raising is probably close.

I also think that calling with 33 or QJo is very close. raising would be wrong and I don't think folding would be bad. Q9s and 76s are close as well but I think raising is clearly wrong.

In hand two I would raise 77 if I felt I could buy position and isolate and just call if it looked like the players behind me were intent on coming in. I would just dump KJo and maybe play 98s if it appeared there were going to be callers behind me.

I realize that these decisions are very game dependant but I appreciate your comments.

[ QUOTE ]
I am going to start posting some preflop hands just to make sure that I haven't fallen into any bad habits. Assume the game is typical, not overly aggressive pre or post flop. Usually 3-6 players seeing the flop, sometimes more, sometimes less. Assume that SB is tight and decent, and BB is loose and bad. The cutoff is loose and Bad and the button is tight and decent. I have a TAG image

Hand 1) Loose bad player limps UTG, Tight decent player calls, from MP. What do you do with these hands? Q9s, 33, 99, QJ offsuit, 67s, AT offsuit.

Hand 2) Tight decent player limps UTG folded to you in HJ. What do you do here? A4s, 77, KJ offsuit, 89s.

I appreciate your thoughts. If you say fold, what would be the next best hand you would call with or raise.

Thanks.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hand 1: Limp Q9s, 33, 67s
Raise 99, QJo, ATo

Hand 2: Raise 77, Limp 98s, Fold A4s. Either raise or fold KJo depending on UTG's limping range.

I'm surprised no one else raises QJo. If the decent limper in MP had anything better, he would have raised the loose limper. I know QJo isn't that great multi-way, but I think it wins more than it's fair share against 1 ok hand and 2-3 garbage hands, and if the loose CO is any less likely to get involved for 2 bets than for 1, I think raising is a must.

very interesting to see everyone's posts, going through a bit of self analysis i am way overly lag... 1) i raise AT, 99 and limp the rest, but in 2) i raise all, because if someone is the type that limps utg i want to play them with a thin field even with somewhat marginal hands... someone berate me please

Hand 1: Raise 99, AT (most of the time - if CO, button, and blinds are very likely to call I just call here), call the rest.
Hand 2: Raise 77 only if blinds tend to fold to 2 bets - mostly I just call as I don't mind 5 or 6 to the flop here. I call the rest.

Berating: I play hand 2 this way because if I hit these hands I want as many players in as possible. Except for KJo, but in this case I also don't like isolating for 2 bets against tight UTG player where I could easily be dominated by AJ or KQ.
