Yeah, does anybody get the Ridnour pick? At all? I'm not talking about Ridnour over Iverson either. I mean why did they pick Ridnour over other guards?

Iverson left off the team ain't right.

Team USA should be like China; it should coerce players to play for on the team. Gestapo tactics.

It's a joke because Iverson is one of the few guys who cares and wants to play. He should be rewarded for his positive attitude about the chance to represent his country.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

according to USA basketball, Luke Ridnour is a better choice than AI, I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree

They saw the rest of the world succeeding with white guys - the US thought, "Why not us?"

Luke's a good point guard, his shooting is getting better and his d is decent for his size/speed. I like him a lot as a player, but he has no business on this roster measured on pure skill.

As somebody who will run coach k's offense and move the ball, he's a good choice. He runs an offense well and keeps the ball moving and gets it in the hands of scorers. I can see the logic behind the pick, but I don't buy it.

Iverson should be on the team, for reasons mentioned in this thread.

I don't mind Iverson, but if I'm building the best possible team of NBA players to try and make up for the debacle that went down at the last Olympics, he's not getting near it.

Ridnour can't shoot, can't play D, and isn't that good of a point guard.

Well, you got 1 of 3 correct. Keep trying.

For the first time in my entire life, I will be rooting against the USA in an international sports competition.

There's no doubt in my mind that if the correct players are there this time, with these 3 summers to prepare, that the US should have no problem winning Gold. i.e. that means only Carmelo or Kobe on at the same time, with Marion, Brand, Billups, and Redd getting plenty of run.

Too bad Nash isn't American. He'd be perfect for Olympic ball.
