I don't understand how you take this hand down with 77 and can't remember exactly what villian had.

fyi, i did win that pot, but it sounds like it was purely luck that i did.

Wooooooooooooow ... WTF did the villain have??? I am guessing he called you with A-high. He is a moran to call with something that can't beat an underpair.

But in the grand scheme, the result of one particular hand doesn't matter. You can play a hand perfectly and lose, and you can totally screw it up and win. it's the long-term consequences of the bad decisions that matter ....

depending on the table 77 UTG is either a raise or a call. I'll vote the call is fine, though.

Flop I'm C/Fing as just about every possible combination that beats us is out there and we're OOP. That's it.

Don't listen to nerdking. He raises and caps preflop with deuces, frigging maniac

heh. i get really nervous no matter what i have when it gets capped. just inexperience i think.
btw, i do have PokerOffice, i am just learning how it fully works though. i still don't know how to replay the hands yet. or get the other players stats put over their avatar on the table.

I'd check-fold the flop. Pairing up any of the board cards is beating you. You're not the aggressor going into the flop, so it will be harder to deceive your opponents.

The turn check seems inconsistent with your flop bet. You must've thought that you were ahead on the flop if you're betting, but when the turn blanks, you don't fire off another bet?

On the river, I wouldn't bet here. The board just put three-to-flush and any jack now completes a straight.

jmitch, Im down with limping small/medium pairs in EP most of the time (ie unless I know table conditions are such that I shouldnt - Im not going to cover what table conditions Im talkign about and I hope they are pretty obvious) but anyway what i want to say is that you cant go too wrong playing small/medium pairs in this sort of spot for set value. that is, if you dont flop a set then let it go*

*yes there are always exceptions but this is hand so so not an exception. In the short term it might be better for you to just play em for sets rather than trying to pick the less obvious +EV spots.

btw welcome to 2+2....with a good attitude and a willingness to learn you can certainly learn to beat the game. gogogogo
