You don't think villain would raise more w/ a strong hand given that this is a multi-way pot w/ a flush draw on board?

he's def not doing this with AJ but this hand is really opponent dependent. I fold here 50% and push back 50% this is a flush draw often. Yea I understand that the pot is protected and the raise is coming from the sb, but I think board texture matters here most. For some reason villains like to make a CR on boards like this. If the board came A94 two flushed and he CR'd I would be more inclined to fold. I lean more toward a push here. This hand is not as clear cut as it seems.

cfb i agree with you here when the flop comes A high with another picture card people CR lighter, even in a protected pot I think your hand is still good here enough, I have pushed back in this exact same situation only to see SB turn over 67s and Btn w a weak A

sucks, but fold.

I think you should bet the flop a bit bigger if you're going to bet it...and I don't totally hate a flop check either.

Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 Players)
Hero raises to $7.00, CO folds, BTN calls $7.00, SB calls $6.00, BB calls $5.00

Flop: ($28) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 Players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $18.00, BTN calls $18.00, SB raises to $44.00, 1 fold Hero?

this would be pretty bad/awkward spot for villain to ch/r spade draws, and thats all i can see you beating here. he has to put you on a strong to very strong hand after you raise utg and then bet that flop with 2 other players in

I think it's an even more awkward spot to check raise so little w/ a big made hand when it is vulnerable to flush draws in a multi-way pot.
