If the river comes 2-8 what do you if you check and he bets?

If the river comes 9+ what do you do if you check and he bets?

I said I check the river too most the times and would probably C/C anything below an 8 on the river and then would have to consider folding if a 9+ came. I say that as I put his range on JT+/TT+. Sound peachy keen?

If you think you have the best hand on the turn then why would you want to donk bet UNLESS you knew they were going to call with a worse hand? It probably depends on the board as well but I just see some donk bets on the turn that aren't getting called by enough worse hands to make C/C or C/R more profitable.

Alot of weaker kings will check behind on the turn. However, I think they would definitely call a turn lead. I'm not sure that they would call bets on all 3 streets.

I think you can get value on the flop and turn or the flop and river, but not the flop, turn and river. I don't think either line is more valuable than the other, which is why I said that they both seem fine.

If you think you can get value on only two streets then I like checking the turn to help control the size of the pot. We are OOP which is never fun. If we bet the turn the check a river what do we do if button bets?

if we've put him on essentially a bluff up to this point, why would we c/f when an ace hits which is the perfect scare card for him to represent? if im c/cing the turn, im c/cing any river and making a note of what villain 3 barreled with.

Well he may be bluffing but it may be more of a semi-bluff. I put him on a range of TT+/JT+. He could be betting here with AT which would certainly hit his range. He might of even double barreled with something like AQ thinking our vill wasn't that strong. Remember that our vill has acted very strong in previous hands up to this point.

And I'm not saying I WOULDN'T call I would just have to really think about the hand and previous hands more before I made this decision to C/C again.

thanks for the imput thus far, it has been a really good discussion. the river is the 6 of clubs. i check and he bets 61 into a 91 pot. so now, then consensus seems to be a call?

When a 23/17 puts money in on all three streets like this, I'm pretty sure you are looking at a hand that beats KQ. But take my advice w/ a grain of salt b/c i'm insanely weak tight.
