right that's what i'm saying, that seems way overambitious for a new player, who starts with tight/nitty and opens up as they become more comfy and put in a lot of hands

[/ QUOTE ] Maybe that's my problem, I have 'expert' stats 20/12/2.5 but am a 26BB loser over 35k hands of .5/1. I was 18/8 after 5k or so hands, but was reading how it should be more like 20/12 so started stealing more and playing as per the classic 'take the training wheels off' miller post. Maybe I'm not good enough to do that and should be more like 18/9.

Remy, I'm with you. I tend to run very solidly in the 16/9 to 18/11 range depending on the stakes and the normal variance of the game. I really don't see a lot of places to open up my game, especially since I sometimes get yelled at for being too loose pre-flop.

i can run a 20 at fr if the table is passive or i'm in aggro steal blinds mode, but it's a tough style to maintain profitably as you have to be very good postflop imo

There may have been a misunderstanding when I said I've been trying to hit 20 for going on two years. I'm trying to get down to 20. I'm fairly stuck around 23-25 range unless I'm playing a horseament to distract me in which case I can play a sub-20 game.
I'm running about 2bb/100 at .25/.50 Stars being low 20's vpip low teens pfr.
