Default Re: AJ, TPGK bets fires twice, need a riverplan

I don't, I'm aggressive, but I constantly see unknowns limp/call with AK and I goto value town on A hi flop and only realize by the river that, oops, the guy who limped out of position and called my bet is holding AK, and not me.

Very likely that his range is AT+, and set. By the river we're only beating KQ, KJ, A9,A8,A7,A6,A5,A3,A2, and complete air, a float that may have gotten a flush/straight draw or complete nonsense hands

edit: against some known villians i will flat AK/AQs in position on the button to see a flop because I can put their range on a narrow amount of hands. We are also thinking players, does villain know what he's doing? probably not but he's probably weak/tight so he flatted AK/AQ IP and called down the aggressor (our hero).

I like a c/c on the turn for pot control, because the board isn't really drawy/ induce a bet from weaker aces.
Anyone else likes this line?

yeah AK AQ RR somwhere in this hand even it's not preflop. I prob c/c turn for pot control. as played I prob c/c a reasonable bet. If you bet are you commited to calling a push? probably.

sorry if you lost to AT

You beat KQ/KJ but he probably isn't calling the turn with those.

You definitely don't beat KJ.

in retrospect, I like c/c on the turn also for stack control. Villain is looking at at $25 pot with only $27 behind on the river, but then again maybe that's a +?

i agree with that, by creating a big pot on the turn you're making a tougher river decision for yourself. you have a marginal hand try to keep the pot small.

give up on the turn, checking flop is also an option. as played, c/f river.

you also need to have a plan before the river. by better the turn you're creating a situation where your going to be playing for stacks. If you don't want to play for stacks try and keep the pot small. Of course thats going to be hard OOP but a check on the turn is probably best.
