Re: Non -showdown profit/loss
Over a 5k hand stretch I've effectively broke even on my non-showdown hands. I'm sure this is variance but it gives credence to Pete's assertion that this is where the profit is.

Re: Non -showdown profit/loss
My little 3k stretch of hands. So what does this all mean?
Request any other stats to go with this and I will provide them for analysis. |

Re: Non -showdown profit/loss
Do the red and blue line converge in the long run theoretically?

Re: Non -showdown profit/loss
While the blue and red lines should converge for an average player, I'm not so sure that they do for a good aggressive player who plays the river well. For example, say you know based on your action that your opponents will put you on a set on a straight board when you actually have a flush draw. Well, then when you call down and hit, it will look like you got your money in bad and sucked out so you will get a lot of winnings compared to your Sklansky bucks whereas when you bluff the board pair successfully, it won't count at all.
Likewise, if you can fold a good hand like a set when beaten on the river, you'll miss out on some Sklansky bucks for being ahead on the flop and turn, whereas a worse player will get credit for being sucked out on when they pay off. This is all conjecture of course, and there might be counterexamples, but I'd be curious to know, among a sample of winning players, how many have showdown winnings that are higher than their Sklansky bucks. My Sklansky bucks this month are at 2056 BB while my showdown winnings are at 4124. |

I wish I could see the graph, but I just get a big box with one of those red x's...

Re: Non -showdown profit/loss
Things seem to look like they should on this scatter plot right? That top left quandrant doesn't look very filled, and the bottom right quandrant sure seems to have at least as many/big of observations as the top left.
This program really is pretty cool. |
