Just Bought a bottle of Absinthe!!!

Yeah we had some on the last day of term at Uni, was about 75% or thereabouts and tasted like absolute crap. I hate a shot of it, the taste stayed with me for hours, the taste of it made me almost barf whenever I had a little bit of gas. Drinking it with the water and sugar-cubes didn't make it much better atall. I'd much rather have just had a fuckload of vodka shots. Hallucination was non-existant also. Probably doesn't help that I totally despise the taste of liquourice.

I picked a couple of bottles up last time I was in the Czech Republic that have it in.

I haven't managed to see any pink elephants yet, but have drunk it till I couldn't see.

I don't think any modern absinthe has enough wormwood in it to make you hallucinate. Absinthe isn't so bad to drink, it tastes like black licorice.

lol well, thats all i really wanted anyway. yea my bottles from the czech to and i was just over in austria and prob could've picked a bottle up in czech for a fraction of what i paid but, eh, what ev, ill get drunk from it anyway

that's a pretty mild bottle of absinthe, just got back from prague where they have 90%.

I've had a heady feeling, somewhere along the lines of nitrous/a lot of pot from it but haven't seen anything.

This is correct. You cannot buy "real" absinthe in London.

I think the limit in most EU countries is 35mg/l of thujone.

I've had a bottle that was supposed to have 70mg/l but as expected I didn't notice any effect besides getting really drunk.

a few weeks ago me and a friend drank some 80% absinthe. I could could barely hold it in, my friend puked all over the place after a few drinks of it. 55% is weaksauce :P

with the 80%. I had a burning feeling in my throat for the rest of the evening. Also talking normal was a bit harder, so I had to drink like 1,5 litres of water before my voice turned normal again :P Needless to say, I dont remember much from the rest of the evening.
