Re: More satisfying to be the best through hard work, or innate abilit
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I've never been better then anybody because of hard work so I don't know what it would feel like. I am better then most people at a lot of things because of innate ability though and it feels really good whenever these things come into play. cliff notes: I'm lazy [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for writing all that so I didnt have to. |

Thanks for writing all that so I didnt have to. [/ QUOTE ] Thank you for serving in the army (I think you're in it). Making that post was just honesty crossed with knowing that a billion people on these forums are the same. |

Re: More satisfying to be the best through hard work, or innate abilit
re: OP
I have been better naturally at things and I have worked hard to be better at things. All in all, it's more satisfying to just be naturally better without putting in hard work. |

Re: More satisfying to be the best through hard work, or innate abilit
I think that god blessed us all with certain abilities and talents, but he also gave us the gift of being able to work hard for the things we love!

Re: More satisfying to be the best through hard work, or innate abilit
generally, you don't become the BEST at something unless you
have both, with more emphasis on the hard work. to address ike's point, i think we need to qualify: EFFECTUAL hard work. it doesn't help if you train hard in the wrong way. but my money's on a hard-worker over a super-talented bum any day. |

Innate ability of course. There is nothing better than trying a new game for the first time with a couple of friends who have been playing it for years, and absolutely destroying them.

Re: More satisfying to be the best through hard work, or innate abilit
i couldnt agree more with jailblazers, if you have the ability to easily get an A in a course where there is someone who has to work the arse off how can you not scoff at them and think wow i must be blessed, considering more than just academics i was a 4 sport athlete in highschool a captain for two years in three of the sports, soccer baseball and golf, with basketball be my worst sport and i just laughed at those one sport athletes who dedicated their whole life and still coulndt compare with those "gifted" athletes, hard work may gain you more personal satisfaction but in the long haul of things it does nothing for those other than yourself imo.
