Re: Name sports figures who have been convicted and if they came back
Tony Adams drink driving spent two months in prison came back to captain his team and country.
Lee Hughes causing death by dangerous driving just got out after three years signed by league two Oldham was at Prem WBA before and was being touted for an England cap. Yet to make an appearance for Oldham. Duncan Ferguson three months for headbutting an opposing player during a match straight back into the team like nothing happened. |

Ray Lewis plead to obstruction of justice in his mess.
Ironically, the two friends he flipped on were later found not guilty, so he was the only one who walked away from it with a conviction. |

[ QUOTE ] one could also make the case that would Jamal Lewis did was worse [/ QUOTE ] "Attempting to distribute cocaine" is worse then killing someone in a drunk driving accident? A drunk driving accident is unintentional. |

Re: Name sports figures who have been convicted and if they came back
Jamal Lewis never actually attempted to distribute anything, his conviction came from a zealous DA trying to make a name for himself at Jamal's expense. Lewis while riding in his car introduced a childhood friend to a woman over the phone, during their conversation Lewis verbally agreed to lend the friend some money so the friend could participate in a drug deal. The friend actually was just trying to impress the woman he was talking to (she turned out to be an informant), so there was never actually any drug deal. The DA looked at the case and decided not to prosecute for lack of/weak evidence. Then the DA left and a new DA decided to come after Lewis. Lewis almost certainly could have beat the charge, but that would have meant going through a trial and this was on the heels of the Ray Lewis thing, so the Ravens wanted him to plead and have the whole thing go away.

This is a good one I think.
Daniel Heatley - He was charged with vehicular manslaughter. He plead guilty to second-degree vehicular homicide, driving too fast for conditions, failure to maintain a lane, and speeding. He received 3 years probation and since returned to the NHL. |

Heatley was also seriously injured himself as a result of the crash and spent most of 03-04 rehabbing.
The death in that case was of his teammate Dan Snyder. Sad story. |
