Let's not spoil Bob's fun here. Clearly Jim Rice and Andre Dawson are better - they hit more home runs!

Bernie Williams was good at things like taking walks - if he'd stolen more bases he'd be a great candidate!

honestly, I don't think he should get in, nor will he, but he was an excellent center fielder for several seasons.

I read moneyball, OBP and slg% are more important than raw stats, when have I ever said otherwise? I didn't say Bernie williams wasnt a really good player, he just obviously isnt a HOFer, kinda like another yankee we all know and love.

Sounds about right. By the looks of it he was better than Earle Combs, another Yankees CF who made it in. Of course Combs has a sick BA because he played in the best offensive era in baseball history.

Not saying he should get in but this whole 'lol what a joke bernie williams in the hall' is pure trolling.

career OPS+ of 125
2336 hits with a career BA of .297
five-time all-star, also won a silver slugger in 2002
top 20 in MVP voting 6 times
4 gold gloves
post-season record 22 HR, 82 R and 80 RBI (yes, most all-time)

BR's HOF monitor has him at 133 (with 100 being likely and 130 being a virtual lock)

Ugh, he was slow so by taking all those walks he was just clogging up the basepaths.

I hate when people try to attack me by mocking me as If Im some idiot. I know more about walks and on base% then you all could ever dream to. I'm not a [censored] idiot who thinks walks clog the bases and sacrafice bunting is the nuts. Go to hell all of you.

In response to the guy pointing out the 133 HOF Monitor stats, Bernies Black Ink and Grey Ink stats suggest he was more of a compiler than a true HOFer. And I don't want to hear positional arguments, he was an OFer. Also, please please don't bring up the gold gloves. Watching him in the OF was about as pleasant as watching gay sex.

so in other words:

I only want to hear things that support my point, and not things that are factual or poignant or true.

yeah sounds about right
