Why on earth did u bet this river? What worse hands call? All i can think of is 42 and maybe some other funky two pair, but not sure if J4s or 84s are in his range...

As played, just fold.

If you don't bet here against these types of loose opponents then you are losing loads of value.

if no one is ever calling here without a set or better then do you just run three barrel bluffs all day and all night? cuz ppl don't make sets and straights very often so by your arguments you should be winning a whole [censored] of pots with air

but you want to check and call, so you think he's gonna valuebet one pair but he won't call with it? no wai

In this particular hand i just don't think villain will call with less than two pair. And yes i should 3 bet bluff more and yes it is profitable.

I actually prefer c/f now.

c/f>c/c>b/f

As a noob I need to ask how we can be sure villain doesn't have 9T?

Are we assuming he wouldn't call the flop bet with that hand?

A8, K8, Q8, J8, T8, 98, 78, 68, basically any 8. Any Jack that paired on turn from floating. There aren't enough draws that missed to warrant a check-call on this river (given how dry the board is, it's very unlikely he got to the river with a hand he feels he needs to bluff with. 35 is really it and that's pretty unlikely).

There are, however, many hands that would call a bet, but check behind as well (every 8, and every Jack). A bet-fold is the best play on this river, by far, IMO. A check-fold is very bad, even if he ONLY bets this river with better hands than us, as he is very likely to call many river bets with lesser holdings. You give up too much value just check-folding. There is really no reason to do it.

Yeah, our ranges are completely different.

I only included J8 and 87.
