The Talkeetna Bluegrass Festival in Alaska used to be pretty amazing. I have no clue if it's still complete anarchy just barely held in check by roving bands of hells angels, but I sure hope so!

I'll add the South by Southwest Music Festival held every spring in Austin, Texas. The energy in the city is incredible.

Re: Places/Events/Festivals/Things/etc that are worth doing atleast on
Carnivale in Rio.
It actually kinda sucked because about %50 of the population boards up their houses and leave the city, and all the country folk (nice way of saying poor) come to town. I recommend going to Brazil but do it some other time other than carnival. Full Moon Party If you are into recreational pharmaceuticals this is the place to go and have some fun. Check out the shroom shakes. Merrit Mountain Music Fest Great place to meet drunk/ easy girls. Really good atmosphere and general feeling of fun and happiness. Amsterdam/ Red light district Every young man should spend some time here sometime in his single life. Nuff said. European or South American rivalry soccer match I am not a big soccer fan but there is no atmosphere like it at any sporting event I have ever attended. Mt. Kilimanjaro Perhaps the hardest thing I have ever physically done in my life. I assumed because lots of people do it and it is all hiking not climbing that it would be no big deal. The altitude and terrain made this really hard on me. Perhaps one of the most pivotal points in my life. Spending some time in Africa or other 3rd world area is great as well. This will give you a real appreciation for the way you live in North America and how blessed you are. |

Maker Faire is something I always thought would be cool to check out. I don't really do much DIY projects but I imagine you'd get to see some really interesting stuff there.
