Would take about a week for casino whoring + 3poker bonuses. leaving the newbie with $700... Wow.

I disagree. With many casinos, it takes more than a week just for the cashout to hit neteller. My worst yet was almost a month for the Classic/Kingdom/Cooks trio. A month of emails and Casinomeister's assistance, but I did get my deposits + ~$500 in earnings back.

PokerShare is worth checking out as you hit Category C. It's a pretty new UB skin, and currently offering a 100% up to $250 initial deposit bonus; it's a biyach to clear, but it doesn't expire & it is stackable. Their big gimmick is that each one of their players "own" the site, and they claim that every 3 months they will give back 40% of their profits to the player base, with each player getting a share equal to his share of the total action on the site. Since they haven't been up & running for 3 months yet, it's impossible to verify that this will happen or give a ballpark estimate on how much this could be worth to the players.

The estimates I've seen in the affiliate forum have shown that the profit sharing is worth about 15% rakebake or so - not all that big a deal. If the bonus is hard to clear, are you sure it's a good deal for low limit players?

There are many, many reputable casinos that pay within a few days at the latest. Make sure to do your research, people.

Depends on how you look at it; I suppose that from a strict bonus whoring standpoint, it'd be better to wait until they hit category E, and can afford to drop the $250 into an account there & not have to worry about it while they slog through the bonus. But for someone just getting to .50/1 & worried as much about skill development as maximizing bonuses, I think it's a good deal...the hands will come as they play anyway, and will add a pretty decent amount to their hourly earn rate (the bonus is worked off piecemeal, so if you play 10% of the required hands, you've cleared $25).

FWIW, I've played about 12 hours there, mostly 1-tabling while I get used to the interface, and have worked off about $35 of the bonus.

I'd switch out 2 and 1. Throwing in $25 into Stars .02/.04 and realizing that sitting there for hours playing poker just isn't your thing is much more attractive than spending $130+ to discover the same.

Great guide, Wookie!

I would add a blurb on re-reading the books (especially SSHE) multiple times and doing the hand quizzes - the big poker sites seem to be full of people who skimmed, then tore out the hand charts and stuck them to the monitor. That plus the posts on "SSHE doesn't include XXX" (which it does) lead me to believe that re-reading can't be stressed enough.

And I applaud the fact that your post doesn't mention casino whoring, which is a great way to get some free money but not a great way to spend time when one should be learning poker. Best to earn the kind of bonuses that also force you to learn the game. If you just want free money, sell your blood for plasma. It's faster, thus freeing up your time for poker education, and there's zero variance.

Edit: Is there any way to fix (or remove) that quoted and requoted link that's making the page too wide for a regular browser window?

Had I not been told this could not be done, I would have figured it out long ago. I hate other people.

Sorry but your wrong, As i said Starluck, Planetluck, VCCASINO cash within 2Working days at the latest.

I made $55 profit on starluck, $60 on planetluck, $250 on VCCASINO. THIS IS AN AWESOME AMMOUNT OF CASH FOR A BEGINNER and to be honest the lack of education about casino whoring is whats preventing most from doing it.

"Oh its really really risky" blah blah blah.
