any particular reason why seneca is less fishy... is it more locals there? whereas canadian casinos have more people driving an hour to have fun.... i know you mentioned that casino niagara is lower $$$$

Niagara Falls, Ontario is a tourist trap. Niagara Falls, New York is a hellhole. The only reason to stay on the American side is to drink for free while gambling. That's the best I can come up to explain the outrageous difference between the two games.

1-2 NL 100max at Seneca:
Rarely more than $2000 on the table, standard preflop raise to 8 or 10.

1-2 NL 100max at Casino Niagara:
Rarely less than $2500 on the table (I've tripled my buy-in and still been the 3rd smallest stack), standard preflop raise to 15.

Note:

Not all 1/2 NL 100max are the same because of the way the rake is charged:

Seneca, Huge rake in terms of BB! 1.5 BB/hand

$3 rake on the flop and another $1 when the pot is $40.

About $120 comes off the table per hour in tips and rake per hour.

But more of it comes from the players who are loose.

But the net effect is the average players looses 6 big blinds an hour!

Niagara,

Huge session fees in terms of BB! I think it's 5 or 6 bucks per half hour.

It's about 5 or 6 big blinds per hour per player.

About $120 comes off the table in tips and session fees per hour.

Players pay the same session fee if they are loose or not.

So the net effect here is if you are a 4BB/hour winner you will still lose to the session fees.

In both cases the average player is losing at least 10BB/100 to rake/session fees and tips!!!!

For bad players it's much much worse...

It must be really hard to make money at either of the games if you're not a good 2+2 player. But you can see why it pays to play looser in the Niagara game?

Bring at least three buy-ins if you're playing in Canada and get ready to splash some chips around. Stuff like this is fairly common:

7 to the flop for $2.
Flop: K94r
Player 1 bets 20.
Player 2 raises to 40.
Player 3 raises all-in to 120.
A few folds, Player 1 and 2 both call all-in.

Player 1 has KQ
Player 2 has K2
Player 3 has K9

Welcome to Casino Niagara.

I saw a guy buy-in five times in an hour once because he couldn't let go of his bottom pair. But people kept "sucking out" against him because his A4 was ahead of KQ preflop...never mind that the KQ flopped top pair to his bottom pair.

They charge 5 per half hour at Niagara. The play is laughably bad ie similar to nano limit NL online or the old Party 25NL games before they became rock gardens. During the day they are more weak than loose, but Saturdays that game is pretty wild..
