Qar if you're the short stack, obviously you should be making moves, but the only time I'm playing any hand on the bubble is if I'm the shortest stack, of if by calling I'm risking so little of my stack even if I lose I'm still way ahead of the shorties.
For the sake of argument, lets also say that each time the short stacks get their money in they're (generously) 70% to win when they get called. Since they would BOTH have to win in those spots, the odds that that will occur is only 49% of the time. Of course, to get a 70% situation they'd have to play tight and get it in with a dominating situation which would further hurt their stacks. Don't forget, if the situation you describe happens then it's optimal for everyone else to fold every hand until your stack is so short the blinds basically put you in. Use this opportunity to steal as much as you can in the right spots until you're no longer the shortest stack, but you shouldn't gamble UNTIL you're the shortest stack. |
