Why is qj/j10 more likely then say q10s or kj here?

[/ QUOTE ]
Would he really raise if he had Q10? Why wouldn't he call and let me "bluff" into him on the river? If he's OOP, that's one thing, but I'm OOP here. I c-raise flop, led turn...if he has the nuts, why is he raising?

KJ makes more sense than Q10, but his weak flop bet and his flat call of my r/r made me think it was much more likely he had a weak J, QJ at best. It should also be mentioned that if villain doesn't have Q10 or KJ (which I think are small parts of his range), he has to worry that I might have those hands. I might even get a hand like J9 to fold with this raise. Which I know sounds contradictory cause I've been playing wild, and I used that as a reason why a worse hand calls. Yikes....

Long story short, I raised cause I figured I had the best hand but didn't want to see the river, as lots of cards can come that I don't like. No one else agrees with me on this?

Because you have the best hand in a limped pot on a drawy board and you can't assume that either of the other two villains in the hand will bet. So lead the flop so you can build a pot and get value from your hand while also protecting it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Gracias. I agree wholeheartedly.

Edit: There was only one person left to act behind me...a lead is mos def better. How I didn't instantly see that, I don't know.

Because that's usually the best play when you have the nuts.

Ask a stupid question...

For whatever it's worth, villain folded. Yet I kinda knew I had played my hand poorly. As much as I tried to justify it, this thread proved I did play it bad. Much thanks fellas. Two threads tonight, two pots won, two hands played poorly. If that's not a ringing endorsement for 2+2, I dunno what is.

J high flop, you have bottom two. Turn K. Which worse hand could call the shove, even if you had the laggiest image? AJ but why would it raise the turn? No overpairs in limped pot most likely. If you think you are still good, call the turn. K is simply bad card to make value from villain.

you say you've been laggy, but unless you've been border line- maniacal you've basically turned your hand into a bluff.

Does 40/30/6 count as borderline maniacal?

Edit: Granted, this is only over 50 or so hands. Still...I'd been pretty loose.

Please explain why lead is better.

[/ QUOTE ]
Leading the flop will actually disguise your hand strength much better than a c/r will. It will also get a lot more value out of your hand b/c you will be called by a wider range of hands. Also, there is no guarantee that anyone is going to bet this flop so please start building a pot on the flop.
