I lived in MN for nine months and ran with the fellas you speak of. Some of the best friends I have in the poker world and easily the most trustworthy group of any I have met in the poker world.
My game skyrocketed through interacting with them. When you surround yourself with those that are better than you, you yourself naturally improve as well. The guys all hang together and are all buddies and generally feed off of each other. Norwegian blood, cold winters, and an unusually concentrated group of poker studs = the best LHE players in the world. Devo

My perspective:
1. Canterbury is pretty large, gets a lot of players 2. It only has limit 3. Natural tendency to focus on 1 form of poker leads us MN people to also play limit online 4. Unusually high % of limit players to population leads to unusually high % of good limit players in MN I'm from MN. However, I now try to play the unlimited betting form of poker to make more moneys. Also, I was never part of the unusually high percentage of GOOD limit players.
