Of course she is bet/calling a weaker king.
We don't hate overcalls; that's not the point. The point is that we can play our hand optimally against villians range by raising the flop. If she just calls, we can valuebet every street. If she raises, we can fold. The value of being able to play our hand perfectly is high enough for us to forgo the extra value overcalls can get us. If we plan on calling a threebet, calling is obviously superior.
