You really have to raise this preflop. I think I probably call here as I think he's raising 44 and 88 preflop. You're going to see 67 a whole lot.

Def. looks like a call to me. I think he got there with a j9 or 67 type hand.
Raising here is not necessary. Your out of position against more than 1 player. I probably raise here 75%

When people say "raise pre flop" are they trying to sweeten the pot? Or are they trying to isolate and get it HU?

isolate, as they are not trying to play a medium pp oop vs 3 others.

Raising pre is probably best but you are getting too much [censored] for not doing it, you got a free look and you took it.

He has a straight too often to push but you have to call.

I'm just raising for straight value. I guess that falls under sweeten the pot(?) You will have the best hand (and thus most equity) almost all the time, which is a good enough reason for me to raise it up.
