I want to see the world, help?

Ok well a lot of people obviously haven't been mugged. It is obviously a serious possibility. I personally haven't been mugged every time I've been travelling but me or one of the people I was with has been. The worst being in Marseille where within 20 minutes of leaving the station we were beaten up and mugged by a gang.

Secondly you can complain all you like but the first time I went travelling I went for 3 months, being from England I decided to go round Europe as a cheap flight was all I needed. I thought I was seeing the world and was incredibly excited.

Did I enjoy it? Yes I had a great time

Did I see the world? No and that really disappointed me, so much so that I turned down my place at university and deferred a year to do more travelling and really seeing the world. I'm not saying "Don't travel Europe" but I think when the topic title is "I want to see the world" I felt it was important so he wouldn't get the idea I had.

No it's not. It's a possibility, yes, but not a serious one. Use common sense and stay sober ( [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] ) and you'll be fine.

Also, there's a difference between getting mugged and getting pickpocketed. The latter is much, much more likely.
