What do we beat? [/ QUOTE ] pick any two cards. it doesn't matter. we don't have a sufficient read on this guy (25 hands is nothing) and the pot is laying us a ton in the way of odds. everyone gets out of line sometimes. perhaps this guy has been card dead and now is gonna muscle his way into winning a pot? |

I think your turn raise was a bad idea. Board is too ragged for MP to continue betting the turn on anything but aces or a king. Good seat at this table - what the hell is SB calling with on this crap board?

I don't like the turn raise. U got stronger but we still have TPMK w/ a PFR as our villian. Id rather call turn and bet b/f any non spade river and grin when then spade hits the river. |

Check-raising the flop is real good. You trap the wandering SB for an extra bet on a hand that you will win the majority of the time. If the raiser 3 bets in a protected pot, then you know you're behind and can safely fold the turn UI.
As played, this is where you want to take the wa/wb line. You want the raiser to continue betting JJ, QQ, etc, while the SB is sitting there contributing dead money (we hope). You're getting full value wa and losing the least wb. Raising the turn is a significant mistake here. |
