This way, you can sometimes bluff him off a better hand, and also, you will win more money every time you do that as compared to shoving preflop, since the pot will be larger.

[/ QUOTE ]

The pot is only larger because you have put more in; you win the same amount if he folds to a shove preflop or on the flop.

No, it will also be larger b/c most villains cbet 90% of the time in these spots, which you can then pick up by shoving.

I think shoving over the cont bet on the flop is a better strategy. A lot of times you can get your opponent to fold hands that are beating you like TT on a Qxx board, etc. Tighter opponents may even fold a small overpair like JJ. If called, you'll very rarely be crushed and will typically have six outs. This is why bluff shoving AK is better than bluff shoving something like 77, b/c when called, you have a lot more equity (6 outs vs. 2).

ama,

I 4bet 100% of the time. I only make pot sized (well just under pot sized) 4bets. But I used to 4bet shove, and that worked out just fine.

Sure its kind of a bluff, but sometimes you indue a shove from worse, you also make it look like you're playing back at him, which will screw with his mind, and lastly, its more of a semi bluff, as we have an ace and king, theres a lot less of a chance he has AA/KK and we're 50/50 vs everything else and we get him to fold hands we're 50/50 with and also fold hands where he has a lot of pot equity (78s etc)

Dan,

What do you think about only calling and shoving all non-awful flops?

Another benefit of this is that we can avoid the terrible spot of our 4-bet only being called and we miss and the pot is huge...(happends at low-limit!)
