Fold. Unless you have some history or something with him, tell me exactly what he has that you can beat more than 40% of the time to make this worth calling. [/ QUOTE ] KK? |

Re: NL400 KK preflop against 4 bet
All I know is that Villain is 14/8, so I have to assume Villain is a good, solid, TAG player. From there, I think it depends on your image...Villain's read on you. If you're in the neighborhood of 10/6-16/9, or something similar, Villain probably has AA...and a fold is in order. If you're 26/14-32/17, or something similar, Villain could have a hand like AA, KK, QQ, AKs, or even AKo...in that case you call.
It has been my usual experience that, when a TAG goes from limp to all-in, preflop, against another TAG (you?), it usually means AA. Absent more info, I would grit my teeth, growl, and fold...saving my $320 for a better spot. |

Re: NL400 KK preflop against 4 bet
this is FR, not 6 max. People don't LRR w/ less than AK, and they certainly don't LRR 5/bet with air thinking you will fold.

[/ QUOTE ] So, get all your money in with the one combo you tie with, but lose to the 6 combos of AA? I'm not saying we're never good here, but I don't think we're good 40% of the time, or even close to it. |

Re: NL400 KK preflop against 4 bet
we don't need to be ahead here anywhere remotely even near the ballpark of 40% of the time to make this a correct call.

Re: NL400 KK preflop against 4 bet
My math sucks...
It's closer to 33% of the time you have to win to break even (right?). I still don't think we're good that often. |

how often we win != how often we're ahead

Re: NL400 KK preflop against 4 bet
equity vs 1combo of KK and all AA is 22.6%. If we add 2 combos of AKs then we are 32.2% which makes a call correct.

Re: NL400 KK preflop against 4 bet
limp/rr/5bAI UTG by 14/8 vs MP1...not too unusual to figure that AA is about 90% of his weighted range here. 2.25:1 isn't enough to be committed.
