I would check/call turn and see what river brings. If it went check/check and river blanks, I'd bet.

If you're going to bet a blank river you think we're good on the turn, right?

Based on that logic, why not bet here?

I don't get this question. You're completely misunderstanding his logic. His decision to bet river comes only after he sees Villain check behind on the turn. This is kind of a critical piece of information that isn't available during the turn decision.

I agree with the turn check, disagree with the river, I think you can get more value by inducing a bluff from a FD or a couple of overs that floated the flop.

I like this exact line too, FWIW.

i dont understand why everyone wants to check the turn, we have more then a bluff catching hand, we need to get value out of 9s, wierd PPs, and draws (theres a million of them), And we can safely fold if raised, no one bluff raises that card.

gl getting value out of 9's and weird pp's, people shut down once it pairs cuz no one double barrels when the top card pairs.

You dont have to give him credit for thinking. Even a lvl 1 thinker is like, [censored] jack paired, i have A9/88 probably not good. Nothing indicates he's a calling station.

I'm kind of in agreement with this. People will almost never double barrel when the top card pairs with overpairs. It's usually the case that we're only getting one more bet from a worse hand, and a turn bet has a ton more FE than a river bet after a turn check, so why bet the turn??
