If you have a cautious, nitty image then this will often work because it does look like pot control with a hand that is worth 3 streets of value. It is easier to put the PFR on a big pair with this line than a flush draw.
However, my experience is that the reason to play a big pair this way is because it most often gets value from weak made hands. That is, you get called. I either check behind river and hope my K high is good, or (probably better) bet the turn because you have a ton of river outs if he has a 10. You might fold out A-high with your river bet. |

Why is it so unresonable that villian would have CR bluffed the flop and then given up. He is aggressive right? I don't think it's nearly as bad as others are saying.
It's still a tough call for villian to make with 88/99. |

if he has nuts/air (usually air) your sizing is aweful, if you think you can push him off a strong PP then this is much better. ID think he plays the flop like this with a strong PP, betting $275 to fold ace high, or checking is way better.
