Re: Damaging Women
If you care for her, respect her wishes and let it go. When she's ready she'll be back in touch.

Re: Damaging Women
[ QUOTE ]
There are a few chicks I know who went to college, were normal girls, then like withing 2 weeks of graduation were suddenly like "i came to college to get my MRS degree" (get married?). None of this was important to them until they realized they were going to have to support themselves. [/ QUOTE ] I don't really think it's fair to assume that she was looking for someone to support her. Lots of people get depressed after break-ups and lose ambition. You could be right of course, but as I said, I don't think it's fair to draw this parallel. OP, you are a giant douchebag. I feel much sorrier for your current girlfriend than your ex, although it sounds like you've done a great job of stringing her along in order to indulge yourself. You justify it by saying you "still care about her." Your actions are extremely selfish. Obv cut off ties with her and while you're at it, break up with your girlfriend because based on the information we have here, she deserves WAY better. |

Re: Damaging Women
Stringing along my college GF is probably the worst thing I have ever done in my life and I will probably go to my grave feeling bad about it. She really, really wanted to marry me, and while I loved her a lot, I just couldn't get to that level.
We stayed together much longer than we should have, and we kept breaking up and getting back together over and over again, even though deep down I knew it wasn't right for me (as a long-term, life-long thing). I kept getting back with her partly because it's really awesome to have someone so in love with you, and partly because it was the best sex of my life (mind-blowing, I-think-I'm-going-to-pass-out sex all the time). I realize that I am a dirtbag for not letting her go sooner than I did. I finally cut all ties with her, and as far as I know, she's never married. She once told me she wouldn't marry anyone else but me. Sigh... I feel bad about it every time I think about it and I really wish I had cut if off much, much earlier. Right after college would have been a good time to do it. OP, if you do care about this girl, sever all ties with her. You'll both be better off in the long run. |

Re: Damaging Women
That part of the post was inspired by her decision to go to college and then become a cashier. Not ragging on her, just she is most likely selling herself short.
If it's a temp thing/she has a good reason for it...well she doesn't because then she wouldn't be depressed about it. |

...but there is obviously more to a story such as this and you know absolutely nothing about my current relationship. making global character statements based upon such limited information is rather silly. [/ QUOTE ] Hey, you asked. If you don't want to be called a doucebag, stop posting about your douchbaggy behavior. |

Re: Damaging Women
[ QUOTE ]
you guys are lame. you can't possibly judge three people that quickly based upon the very limited information in my OP. after hearing all of this, i agree some of my actions have probably been douche-baggy in nature...but there is obviously more to a story such as this and you know absolutely nothing about my current relationship. making global character statements based upon such limited information is rather silly. [/ QUOTE ] Sure I can, I do it all the time. Let's review the facts: 1. You broke up with a girl (Nothing wrong here) 2. You keep boning said girl even though you broke up with her - Douchebaggery at it's finest. 3. You get a new gf but continue to bang old gf on the side. - More douche baggery 4. You post on the internet asking for advice about your douche bag antics - Even more douche baggery 5. Other douche bag stuff you probably left out because even you are too embarrassed to admit it on the internet. |
