I guess hand 2 is not as bad, but I still should have bet it.

Bet/folding the river is tough. I don't think you should do it too much, but on the other hand you should certainly do it once in a while which is more than I do.

When in doubt at the Borg 20 40 game, bet. Getting raised on the river is usually just a function of running bad. When you see some of the crap you get called by you're going to think back to all the rivers you checked and want to kill yourself.
