What to wear to an industry conference

I'd call and ask. I've been to a few concrete conferences and some people are in shirt and ties (vendors) and many are in shorts + T-shirt.

Wear what you'd normally wear except add a cape of some sort. You'll be the belle of the ball.

Meh. I went to a company conference in southern FL a couple weeks ago and it was literally so cold in there that the men in SUITS were shivering. It was absolutely miserable.

I think that khakis are good, with a polo-type shirt. I like the light-jacket idea too; it's a good way to get mildly dressed up if a fashion curveball comes your way.

There is somewhere to sign up for this thing right? Whoever you contacted for that, just contact them and say "what would be appropriate attire". They will tell you.

But i guess with 15-17.3% of posters on 2p2 working to automate controls and manage wastewater you can post it here. The only reason I don't like threads like this is that us boiling oat runners feel left out.

While that is indeed true, I also live in Iowa. With 97 degree heat, 97% humidity, and an office a/c that sucks, I'd give anything to be "cold" in my office.
