I play it same as you did and I probably shove turn.

Where is the advantage in shoving the turn. The only hand he might call with that we are beating is AcJx. Maybe if he's got QcQx too.

After thinking a little bit more about it I think I agree with you. I was thinking FDs probably isnt a very big part of his range and therefore we could shove now. What I didnt think about was what made hands he could play this way and call a shove with. I think this is air pretty often so lets give him some rope.

or AA or KK or KcJx maybe
and how often is he going to fire turn with air after u call his c/r? If he is likely to give up, then u should just repop flop

I agree that a FD isn't a "big" part of his range, though i've certainly seen villains play hands like AcKc like this. Here's a question, what if we just call turn and then villain shoves a non-board-pairing-non-club river?

ugly turn huh. I think in general it is best to reraise flop to get it in with overpairs and fold out draws that have now put in more money but don't get to see anymore cards.

Against someone i play against a lot I will always just call the flop checkraise to help protect myself in situations where I want to take a card off and see what he does.

However, I would reraise the flop. You said yourself that FDs are a large part of his range so why not commit him now?

[/ QUOTE ]
wouldnt reraising pretty much put heros hand face up?

Our range could include flush draws too though. If the board was rainbow then yes. But at the same time it doesn't really matter here if we are repping what we have, IMO.

what do you do with a fd on the flop? I'd imagine shove so just shove and he'll call with QQ for sure.

turn I'd call and maybe fold a blank river.

yeah i dont like that either. i like to induce the bluff. even when the club hits it doesnt mean he has it and even when he does u boat up a lot. im not sayign its right, but i never like turning my hand face up unless im pushing allin and his call would have odds anyway.

Depends, if it is AcJc I probably just shove. With a smaller one I might just elect to call.

I don't see why you would shove flop with AJc (unless you think he folds QQ-AA which I doubt). Call and push over his turn bet is much better.
