if he hit the car bad enough to damage it, wouldn't a cursory glance at your car be enough to prove that it wasn't you who hit it?

Reminds me of a similar situation.

I pull into a spot at Harrah's Laughlin and I park, as normal, then go inside the casino where I walk around for about 5 mins, go to the poker room, get on waiting list, then find a slot to play while I wait for my name to be called. A Harrah's cop comes up to me and says when I parked my car, I hit the car that faced my car with my front bumper, the valet kid saw me.

No way, I never felt it, didn't do it, wasn't me. So we go out there and sure enough, my front bumper is right on his. Apparantly the spot I picked had a little slope, so when I put it in park, it still moved forward about an inch or two and there you have it.

He just made me leave a note and I had him document all the other dings and bumps on the other guys car so he couldn't blame me for that. He never called.

(stupid story, guess I just feel like typing tonight, sorry all. lol)
