The zombies from all the Romero movies excluding "the new Land of the Dead movie with that smart black zombie who killed some humans with his m16" are too stupid to cross a big and deep moat. That brings up another question. What is worse? 1) Zombies that run really fast like in "28 Days Later" and "Dawn of the Dead" or 2) "Smart" zombies like in the newest Romero movie where they learn to circumvent walls and traps, and can swing weapon or fire guns?

Finally an interesting OoT Topic!
It really depends on what kind of zombies and how bad the outbreak is. Fullblown: Find the quickest way out of the city to somewhere the zombies won't go. If you try to bunker up you'd better be somwhere secure and have a lot of resources to live on. A nifty simple zombie simulator: Zombie Sim

However they also features a new breed of "smart" zombie that actually use teamwork and learn how to use weapons and tools to circumvent traps and walls. It was pretty unbelievable when a zombie killed some dood with a stolen M16 haha... Not a bad movie overall though.
