Agreed. The food here is pretty much horrible. I have heard though that their ales are good, as is the pizookie. Of course, I very rarely eat dessert, and I even more rarely drink, which makes BJ's pretty much the last place I'd ever go for a meal.

I do have to disagree about your CPK complaint. I like that place.

BJ's is a great default to keep in your queue. buffalo chicken pizza with ranch, Jeremiah Red, and pizookie to share is a nice little meal. beer sampler if you're a noob.

Hmm, well you might be right. I almost always order the same thing every time (the italian sausage pizza), so perhaps most of the other things on the menu suck. So I will clarify my previous opinion by stating that the italian sausage pizza at CPK is pretty good.

CPK has a Chinese Chicken Salad that I like. That's pretty much it. Oh, bread too.

BJs stout has a very strong black licorice taste that makes me gag. Some ales are okay.

The wife and I love it.

The one in South San Jose is smaller then the one in Cupertino, but has much better service and is easier to get a seat at.

The Jambalaya is really good.

I haven't been to a CPK since I left Atlanta in '96, but I went a few times when I was there and remember the following pizzas being pretty good:

BBQ Chicken
Sweet and Spicy Italian Sausage (you are correct, this is by far the best there and is awesome)
Wild Mushroom
Five-Cheese and Fresh Tomato
Four Cheese

I remember trying a couple of other more non-standard type pizzas there and they pretty much sucked.

I can't really see myself going to a chain called California Pizza Kitchen in California, though.

Actually, I think the reason I initially stopped going was because they had CPK in the frozen pizza section at the grocery store.

That pizza was what I ordered the very first time I went to a CPK. It tasted pretty damn good, and none of the people I went with ever had any rave reviews of any of the other pizzas, so I just stuck with it. Good to know I haven't been missing out on anything.
