[ QUOTE ]
Solution appears to be to get a LinkSys WRT54G router then upgrade the firmware from a site called Sveasoft, which will give you some QoS options. [/ QUOTE ] I have a WRT54G, and flashed the firmware a few months back to try and solve some of these issues. I have 10mb/1mb cable currently (movin to the country where i have to get satellite 1.5/200k ) I will NOT let my roomie download via Torrents while I play poker, it causes too much lag and possible disconnects. We download after I am done playing poker, while we sleep. I don't think just getting this Linksys router is your solution. |

Oh, that's disappointing. Have you used the QoS setting to set it so that it only allocates a certain % of bandwidth to particular IP addresses / programs?

your best shot is getting a router designed for QoS instead of just flashing the firmware for one. I don't know if it has load balancing, but the dlink dgl4300 I mentioned earlier performs better (or at least performed better at the time it came out) than other routers with QoS. I shared an internet connection for a while at home and it worked pretty well.
