He hasn't been. Some donkish plays, but nothing along these lines. Does it being the last hand of the day affect your decision at all?

[/ QUOTE ]
I think it makes it more likely he has a monster. Most people are happy just to survive the day and go home and sleep after 16 hours of poker.

Guy makes it 11.25BB on an open on the last hand of the day? This reeks of a giant pair or at worst a very strong Ace, muck and go home to fight again tomorrow.

Not positive exactly, but in the neighborhood of 50k.

This is probably the least of our concerns, like right under what the waitresses are wearing.

All that matters is our stack relative to the blinds, and somewhat to the rest of the table, but barely.

I don't know what he has, but he probably has 88+, AQ+. If he wants the blinds that badly, I would let him have them. I don't think he folds to a push that much, and when he calls, you are frequently dominated.

contradictory?
do you think he is folding AQ/AK ever?

do I need to redefine frequently... or dominated?

Maybe the push is good, but my intuition is to get out of the way of this play. It could very well be a big pair. Also, I don't think he raises this much with JJ or AK and is likely to fold to a push.

I disagree he likely has a monster here (KK/AA).

I think there's a very small % of players that would ever raise that big with AA/KK and that it would be an exploitive play as a result of past history with a player at the table.

I don't think this guys thinking on that level.

I think it's the last hand of the day and he's telling the table that he has a hand that he's not folding, but that he's quite content with just picking up the blinds. I think this narrows his range considerably.

I'm not ignoring the fact that he could have JJ/QQ here either, but I do think he's giving us enough info that makes TT a jam here.

Personally though I think this reeks of 77-99, AQ+

I've frequently been wrong trying to decipher idiotic preflop monster overbets. As a general rule, I don't do it anymore unless I have to. Attributing logic to one who is illogical is an endeavor unlikely to produce a meaningful result. You have no idea what his bet means (other than he's a moron), because you've never seen it before. Fold, go home.
