I would definitely push here if you have a tight image and get any respect. I don't think his line is a very strong hand often at all first of all, so you should have some very legit F/E against his random 8 or whatever he has. The pot is 800 and he has about that left behind, and you have 15 straight + flush outs, and a 9 will be good some % of the time here as well IMO. So if he calls 100% of the time it should be pretty close to neutral EV, so when you combine that with the fact he will muck small pairs a lot, it can help your image if you get called anyway, you won't extract much value if you hit and he has a weak hand, I def. like a push here.

Why? I think this bet is much more +EV than simply going for the free shot at the gutter... I could see it being close, except for this reason:
