Re: what does villain have?
Someone donked in to the old man on the flop, and the old man called?
Yeah, I have to call here, we're drawing to four good outs and capable of getting tasty bets in from AJ too often here. --- That said I don't think it's that great of a spot. |

Re: what does villain have?
I don't care what he had because I folded preflop and you should have to. Not even close. Unless the dealer told me I had to keep my money in the middle i'm taking it back and throwing in my cards every time.

[ QUOTE ]
When you find out what he had you'll have no idea why he checked the river... [/ QUOTE ] He's a quiet old man in a live 3/6 game. If he turns over anything less than [EDIT]AK I will be surprised. -McGee |

Re: what does villain have?
If this quiet old man plays like the quiet old men at the B&M I frequent, he has AK/AQ at worst, and AA/KK/QQ/sometimes JJ the rest of the time. MAYBE KQ or AJ, but most of the weak tight old men I play against don't even raise these preflop.
I fold the flop because I'm dominated by a huge part of his range, and would be calling for 2 outs / runner runner a huge amount of the time. I'm betting he had KK/QQ and slowed down because he thought you had AA or JT just like every other weak tight MUBS suffering old man at the B&M. |

Re: what does villain have?
Fold preflop here even if it isn't raised. A3 is terrible against so many players. If you hit an Ace you'll either pull a tiny pot when no one else has one or dump a bunch of money when you're dominated.

Re: what does villain have?
I always fold A3o outside of the blinds in a normal B&M 3/6 game.
On this hand fold preflop. Fold the flop Call the turn and river. Since this is B&M 3/6, without a read, the villain could have almost anything. |

Re: what does villain have?/results
OK.. my thoughts were that I had villain on JJ. He just called the flop and didn't r/r the turn, and then checked the river. I was amazed to find that he had flopped a set of queens, giving new meaning to the term "slow play"..

Re: what does villain have?/results
QQ is the hand this type of player will turn over again and again in this position. He'll raise with AA-JJ and AKs, and slow down if his hand isn't clearly unbeatable if he doesn't understand why you're showing strength.
