sh has more variance, partially because there are so many more decisions to be made and you play a lot more hands with lots of decisions in them

About the shorthanded comments, am I better off in full ring doing these things since I will have way more players in the pot?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes. I play shorthanded exclusively and very rarely raise for free cards. Players are aggro and often deny the free card, and usually not enough players are in the hand to get immediate value. I remember back when I played fullring I used to free card/value raise with draws alot.

Not enough callers to limp with 53s OTB.

I would just call the flop. I don't want BB 3 betting and potentially knocking UTG out and charging us the maximum. I also want to preserve our implied odds when we hit. Lastly, alot of villains will check the turn if they didn't hit the flop, so you might get a free card anyway.

As played the flop cap doesn't really lose any money unless someone has a higher flush draw, however you lessen your implied odds if you hit. On the other hand you might get a free card. The problem is BB should be betting a blank turn when you cap the flop, since your hand looks alot like a draw, and he should probably check when a 3 flush card appears. This is the opposite of what you want to happen when you cap the flop.

In generally I don't worry about knocking the player out inbetween us as players don't seem like to putting money in a street and then folding the hand. ATt 5cent/10cent I don't even consider it.

I agree about the implied odds. It would be a better play if there was an extra person in the hand.

While BB should certainly be leading a blank turn if he thinks hero could be on a draw, I don't see very many good players doing this consistantly and bad ones won't even consider it (they might randomly donk but not for this specific reason).

and flop cap is spew.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's just not true... you can certainly debate that it's not the right play but spew it is not.

[/ QUOTE ]I played about 6 orbits full ring just now {.1/.2}. Everyone was sooooo passive. Is this standard? It's like bizzaro world relative to 6-max. I hate it FWIW. Heh.
